Steve graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with an Honours Degree and a PGCE, later he went on to complete a Masters Degree in Education at York University. Steve started his career as a graduate P.E. Teacher at King James’s School in Knaresborough and spent some time playing professional sport. In the intervening years he has worked at a number of schools in North Yorkshire and held a range of positions including Head of department, Head of Year and Vice Principal. Immediately before joining Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) he was Headteacher at Northallerton College, a comprehensive school, including a large Sixth Form.
In 2013, Steve joined OGAT as an Associate Principal and has had the pleasure of working in a number of Outwood Academies such as Carlton, Shafton, Acklam and latterly as Principal at Ripon. Steve was delighted to be successful in his appointment as Principal at Bishopsgarth and feels privileged to be here. He is passionate about ensuring that students at Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth achieve their very best and have the opportunities that they deserve.
